Qur’an says, “Ask the people of Book.” What and why?

Qur’an 16: 43 and 21: 7 are the references Christians often use to assert that Qur’an testifies to the Judeo-Christian people to be the bastions of the Monotheistic faith. They argue that they also testify to the authenticity of the Bible, the collection of the scriptures that is the corner stone of the Judeo-Christian beliefs.

Is (present) Torah like the Qur’an?

Sam Shamoun and Jochen Katz in an article allude to the Qur’anic challenge about Torah in Surah 28 verses 48-49 and allege that it concludes, ’Torah (as it was readily available at Muhammad’s time) is equal to the Quran in value of guidance and “is like it”’

It was really irritating to find a couple of Christian fellows time and again referring to some verses of the Qur’an and interpreting them utterly wrong. Though this phenomenon is nothing new but I found it irritating because I did explain to them the verses and they had no answer to it but at some other occasion they with a markedly cunning attitude came up with the same chatter. Lately I found that their adamancy sprouts from their blind belief in the professional liars running anti-Islamic sites who say all kind of stupid things.

Slavery in Islam and Christianity

Ka’b bin Malik narrates: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him, fainted for an hour. When he had a relief he said: “Fear Allah! Fear Allah! In the treatment of what your right hands posses (i.e. slaves). Cover their backs (i.e. clothe them), fill their bellies and be kind to them in speaking.” (Ibn Sa’d’s Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir, Translated by S. Moinul Haq, Kitab Bhavan, New Delhi 2009 vol.2 p.317 The narration has been authenticated by Albani in Sahih al-Targhib wal-Tarhib Hadith 2288)

Islamic and Christian eductional methodologies: A comparison

When we deal with religious i.e. claimed to be divinely inspired texts, two things are very important to be seen before taking any text as basis of a faith or making it a foundation of an exclusive claim to Salvation.
